BLOG 07 : Experiences about Pechakucha

I gave the first Pechakucha speech on April 12th. Generally speaking, the whole speech is a brand-new format for me-a short period of time to describe some of the research process of the project. After this lecture, I think the good part is that I am very clear about the theme I have chosen and will describe it completely and what goals I want to achieve. I think this is a good place. But to a certain extent I think my speech is incomplete.

1. The pictures I chose in the speech are too literal, and some pictures even use Chinese data, so in the course of the speech, the instructor cannot understand what I want to convey. I think in the next I should take this into consideration during the survey and express my views with eye-catching language and data.

2. Although I did some exercises before the lecture, I was still very nervous during the lecture, which resulted in not finishing all my things within the time limit. I think because I put the mindmap at the end, I should indicate what I want to do and how I want to achieve the goal at the beginning. So in the final speech, I didn’t make a complete conclusion to the whole topic.

3. After the speech, my teachers also gave me some suggestions. They suggested that I refine the scope of the subject and conduct some directional analysis, because equality includes many aspects. Although I chose one of them, I still Need to be more detailed; What’s more, the teacher also advises us not to think prematurely how to achieve the final goal and how to achieve it, we should study more and enjoy this process.

In the next stage, I will narrow down the age range of girls and conduct targeted research on the current situation of girls aged 13-19. In addition, I will do some questionnaire survey statistics, focusing on what users need and how to enable them to use the software more effectively.
